Upcoming open-world survival horror game P.A.M.E.L.A. has a new trailer, and it’s a mix of unsettling, dystopic sci-fi imagery reminiscent of BioShock and Deus Ex.
P.A.M.E.L.A., developed by Toronto-based NVYVE Studios, features an RPG-style progression system, as players explore the futuristic city of Eden, desolated by a mysterious affliction that's driven its citizens to madness. P.A.M.E.L.A., the game’s titular A.I that runs Eden, awakens the player character and guides them via the AARM, a bionic attachment that allows access to various technologies found in the city. Should a player die, they are respawned as a new character awoken by P.A.M.E.L.A., a system that’s not entirely unlike ZombiU’s.
Players are able to explore at their leisure, save for the threats posed by the afflicted or Eden’s security systems, and can experience a full day and night cycle that affects gameplay. Players will be on the hook for their actions, as unnecessarily aggressive behavior may trigger power outages, affecting the player’s ability to survive.
Check out the newest trailer, featuring a look at the AARM's functionality and the shadowy corners of Eden. The trailer also features a haunting theme composed by Jeff van Dyck, composer for the Total War series and audio director on Alien: Isolation.

P.A.M.E.L.A. is scheduled for a 2016 release on PC, though the developer’s website states that they are considering consoles and testing with VR technology.
