Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter is the eighth installment in Frogwares' video game series focused on the Great Detective. Frogwares and publisher Bigben Interactive today released a cinematic trailer for the forthcoming game that shows Holmes meeting the "Devil's Daughter" for the first time. Chaos ensues.
The Devil's Daughter is slated to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 27. In addition to the beautiful trailer, a synopsis for the game teases a much different tale for Holmes:
“What led young Katelyn to 221B Baker Street? Could she have discovered the dark truth about her family? Who is the charming clairvoyant that has moved in to 221C? Is there room for séances and occult rituals in the bastion of logic and rationalism?” For the first time in his prestigious career, the most illustrious of detectives must fight not to reveal a secret, but to keep one…"

In a press release, Bigben Interactive says the game combines exploration, investigation, and intense action sequences. This brief summary sounds a little more action packed than Frogwares' latest Holmes adventure Crimes and Punishments, a game that I gave high marks to, stating that "I enjoyed my time sniffing out clues and having those startling 'Eurkea!' moments when a revelation is made. I clearly wasn’t as smart as Sherlock Holmes, but the game sure made me feel like him – something I haven’t been able to say about the other games bearing his name."
Xbox One owners can play Crimes and Punishments for free starting today through the Games with Gold program. It's worth your time, folks.
