There’s more to life as a Yakuza member than back alley crime and shady business dealings. Yakuza 5 developer Sega has released a new batch of screens that show off the game’s numerous diversions.
Even Yakuza members like to spend their evenings gallivanting around their respective districts, taking in the sights and playing a game or two. In Yakuza 5, players will be able to snap pictures at photo booths, raise and bet on chickens, try to talk up the hostess at a local bar, and even practice their drumming skills at the arcade with Taiko no Tatsujin. Yakuza 5 is, unsurprisingly, filled with nods to modern Japanese culture, including collectible Hatsune Miku and NiGHTS statues. There’s even old arcade cabinets with Virtua Fighter 2. When not traversing the bars and beat-em-up games, you can also go hunting for bears in the snowy mountains.
Yakuza 5 is scheduled to release sometime before the end of the year on PlayStation 3. No exact date has been announced. For more on Yakuza 5's inspiration, check out the first of a three video series here.
