It's almost been a year since developer/publisher Double Fine announced it obtained the rights to produce a remastered version of the '93 LucasArts hit Day of the Tentacle. The HD edition of the sequel to Ron Gilbert's Maniac Mansion is slated to release later this year, but fans will be able to play it early at Indiecade in Los Angeles, CA. A collection of new, colorful, pixel-free screens are also ready for you to enjoy.
Day of the Tentacle stars an intrepid group of lovable nerds who travel through time with the hope to foil the world-dominating plans of the evil Purple Tentacle. The point-and-click adventure game was a critical hit when it released in the early '90s, and put developer Tim Schafer's name on the map (and the front of the box). Now the game has found a new home at Schafer's studio, Double Fine, which sets next to its fellow LucasArts IP: Grim Fandango.
Indiecade is being held in Los Angeles now, running from October 22 to 25. Learn more about the independent games-focused event at the Indiecade website. Can't make the event? Don't worry! Just take a gander at the cartoony, HD screenshots in the gallery below.
