The Surge, an upcoming action-RPG from German developer Deck 13, revealed its first screenshot and an in-game render of the main character today. Concept and environmental artwork has also been released for the game.
The Surge is set in a not-too-distant dystopian future, where the life cycle of Earth is nearing its end. Humans have continued to advance their technology, but the planet has suffered for it and humanity's indulgent way of life is now collapsing. The game's protagonist is equipped with a modifiable exoskeleton that is upgraded using the remains of his enemies. The Surge's equipment system is built on dismemberment and using those enemy parts to enhance your armor, weapons and more.
The Surge is currently on track for release in 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
